As you no doubt know, our tour went off without a hitch, and I doubt there was anyone who did not thoroughly enjoy the experience!

The itinerary, the route we travelled, the places we camped, the activities included, and meals provided were obviously the product of years of trial and experience by your team at Bhejane...simply wonderful!

The team who accompanied us were like a well oiled machine in terms of functionality, but it was their willingness at all times to help with a smile...truly appreciated by all!

As a physician, I have met and worked with a lot of people in my 40 years of practice: No doubt you guys are all aware of the exceptional qualities of our tour leader, Pete. I don't have enough good adjectives to describe him, but I kept thinking during the tour how much better this planet would be if we had more of him!

The trip to northern Botswana is ideal for first-timers or those who have been before and want a deeper knowledge of the animals, people, and environment. Pete is a fantastic guide who is very knowledgeable about the trees, animals, and the country's history. He could answer almost all of my questions, and any tree or bird he wasn't sure of, he would quickly look up and provide me with an accurate description.

Together with the crew of MJ, Adriaan, Rooi Jan, and Comfy, everything ran smoothly from pitched tents upon arriving at the campsite to preparing delicious food. A special mention goes to Comfy, who effortlessly cooks tasty dinners, freshly baked bread, and even made a birthday cake using a black pot.

With these trips in the bush and often isolated from larger towns, it is easy for things to go wrong. However, Pete's calm demeanor and the experience of the entire crew would solve whatever small issue was encountered along the way.

I would recommend this tour for nature lovers and 4x4 enthusiasts, regardless of their experience level.

Just a quick note of our appreciation of being able to experience this wonderful trip at last. Well worth the wait!

We enjoyed the trip from the moment it began to the very last day. Everything was planned to perfection. It was amazing to arrive in camp with the tents pitched and ready and the pots boiling on the fire.

All activities were so well planned and so appropriate to the itinerary. We enjoyed the relaxing day in Ngepi Camp giving us time explore the camp which came at exactly the right time before the trip to Kasane where many items on our bucket list were ticked!

I must commend our tour leader Mark Jones and his amazing team. Mark is such an easy to get along with person with so much energy. His passion for nature, the birds and wild life is inspiring. We so enjoyed his interesting talks on the long drives about the trees along the side of the road, the bird flying overhead, the fires in the distance, etc, etc………. We certainly learnt a lot from him.

Meals prepared by Vermaak were nutritious and tasty. How he does it I do not know!
We met an amazing group of people on our trip and I think that is also contributed to making our tour so enjoyable.

My one wish – please would it not be possible for Bhejane to arrange more tours for SUV’s to participate? Maybe Namibia?

We returned from our Trans Botswana, Caprivi, Chobe & Vic Falls trip (4 -14 September 2022) two weeks ago. And what a trip it was! We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it.

The trip was extremely well organised and everything went to plan without any major hiccups.
Our guide, Mark Jones, was friendly, professional, eager to help, very knowledgeable on many subjects, a great teacher, and just generally an amazing tour leader. A huge asset to Bhejane. We would love to do another trip with him as a guide.
Vermaak Senosi is an amazing cook and all his meals were tasty, well thought out, and there was more than enough food. Such a good sense of humour too.
Mpho Suping is very quiet, but pulls his weight behind the scenes eagerly helping out wherever he is needed.
Mark, Vermaak, and Mpho make an amazing team. We all felt very well looked after.

We were very fortunate to be part of a group of 14 very like-minded individuals. We all got on well with each other from day 1, we made many happy memories together, and new friendships. We could easily do another trip together.

None of us enjoy camping - so the Lodge Accommodation option was perfect for us – in all its forms. A comfortable bed with clean en-suite facilities is what we were all looking for, and Bhejane provided just that on this tour.

Well done Bhejane on organising this fantastic tour in such a breathtakingly beautiful corner of the world. An unforgettable experience!

Please convey our thanks to the whole team for the unforgettable tour during May.

Highlights had to be the consistency of care, attention and good food, not to mention the black brew constantly available aka "Bhejane Moer Kaffee" (Theresa is now hooked).

On day one, someone mentioned to someone that it was my birthday. Consequently everyone knew and singing and some embarrassment ensued. However any blush was soon quieted as Comfort and RooiJan presented a birthday cake to add to the celebration. This was the first of many master pieces produced from the camp kitchen. Goodness knows how they manage to do all the other things they do and manage to turn out excellent hearty breakfast and utterly scrumptious evening meals (and even the occasional salad at lunch time). Amazing food!

Lead by Peter and assisted by Mark the organisation of the tour was perfect, such experience and knowledge freely shared, is hard won and we really appreciated the professional but thoughtful and caring approach.

We had been advised by several others to give Bhejane a try and had been promised no disappointments. Spot on advice!
We will pass on the word to friends to join the Bhejane family too.

Now to chose the next Bhejane adventure.

First of all, as shared by Evan Naude (Tour Leader) this is not a holiday, this is a tour of the Klein Karoo. From our perspective that was so true, it was a tour discovering the beauty of the Klein Karoo with its many mountains, unique ‘dorpies and inhabitants on route 62 and the thrilling experience of navigating the many passes to each new destination where we set up camp. WE as in the Bhejane team. True indulgence for a novice camper as the Bhejane team did everything which included setting up our tented accommodation and making the most amazing meals. All we had to do was to be ready at the agreed time every morning, for the next daily adventure and share stories with our new friends that we made on the tour.

Thank you Evan and team (Vermaak and Leon ) this is a highly recommended tour, well planned, with interesting titbits shared as we discovered the Klein Karoo. Evan your passion for adventure and your kindness to everyone on the tour was highly appreciated. You are an exceptional guide and tour leader.

We have been home for nearly a week and I have to write and tell you what a fantastic trip we had to the Kgalagadi!

As you know this is our third trip with Douwe and we cannot speak highly enough of his abilities to lead a tour. He is passionate about the bush and has so many interesting facts and stories to tell about the areas we have visited. He makes sure that every member of the group is able to pursue his or her interests, be it animals, insects, birding, trees, grasses, you name it and he will do his best to find it and find out about it. He works exceptionally well with every team that goes with him – we have had a different team on each trip – and he is really good at making sure every member of his team is acknowledged and thanked for the work that they do. This in turn makes for a very happy bunch of guys who are always ready to help and assist with any task and go out of their way to make sure we have a wonderful time. The tents were always clean and set up when we arrived in camp, kettles boiling for tea and coffee, amazing meals produced on open fires – especially the pot bread! Incredible to get pudding on several occasions!
We have enjoyed Namibia, Zambia and Botswana with Bhejane and can highly recommend them in every respect of the tours we have done.

Hullo MJ, this is just a quick note for the whole Bhejane team

Our above trip was absolutely fantastic! Pete, Vermaak, Rooijan and Ofensie made a fabulous team and actually made the trip what it was. They went out of their way to be the most helpful and hospitable people one could wish to have on a trip like this. Pete's guidance was outstanding, as was his running commentary of interesting information that he poured out every day.

The selection of sites we stayed at, rural as they may have been, were perfect and I wouldn't have wanted or expected anything better. The food provided for a trip like this was outstanding. We honestly could not have asked for better with regard to organisation, hospitality, food, even the appalling roads were fun to drive. The group of people we were with, one of the "uncontrollables" on such a trip were a wonderful with not one complaint from anyone.

My only "gripe" was that it should have a few more days added to it (I understand the cost factor), that was how much we enjoyed it. Hopefully this has opened some doors for us to do something similar on our own self-drive in future.

In hindsight, we were so pleased that the original trip was re-routed due to Covid and so allowed us to experience a bit of the real wild Botswana.

Please pass this note on to all concerned, I think you all deserve the accolades and that includes you who was always willing to come back with information or just to clarify some questions that I asked.

This was our 2nd Bhejane tour, with the Richtersveld being the 1st.
We had a ‘great’ adventure and enjoyed every moment. The scenery, being the reason why we tucked along, was better than expected.

We were delighted by the professionalism of the team.
Dries Reyneke, the Tour Guide was first-class. His enthusiasm, knowledge (and eagerness to share), leadership and interaction with the guests were delightful. Dries is a remarkable young man and a gem. He is mature beyond his age and an asset to your company. You should treasure him. As Christians, his evening prayers were from the heart and honest and we truly cherished it.

The support from Hansie, Aaron and Fano were enormous. The meals they prepared, setting up camp and interacting with guests were appreciated by all. The red velvet cake for desert on the final evening was a winner. The team was always ready to assist and help – impressive!

Our original booking for a Botswana Safari was placed just before Covid hit us. Since then Bhejane have kept us informed of the ever changing situation and worked with us to suggest alternatives considering implications of border crossings etc. When we decided to stay with the original tour, they have on more than one occasion accommodated the variable conditions and rescheduled us on later tours - we are now scheduled to go in 2022 ! Hi there. We have just done the ‘West Coast Wanderings’ tour with a great Bhejane team of four guys. What a truly wonderful trip that was.

We all wanted to write you a short note of appreciation after we had the most glorious holiday to the Northern Botswana area in August.

As a family we were delighted by the scenery, delicious meals, organisation, route planning, professionalism of your team, thoughtfulness of each destination and the activities offered.

Pete was the most incredible leader with a wealth of knowledge, sound organisation and a beautiful rapport with all the guests. He was then supported by three gentlemen in Sanana, Vermaak and Rooijan who were phenomenal - their humour, ability to set up camps so efficiently, the food Vermaak produced at every meal and their connection with each and everyone one of us was much enjoyed and appreciated.

There wasn't a time we wanted for anything or didn't have the best made available to us. Sanana and Rooijan were always willing to help out, especially with the children. The kids were never bored, lonely or without excitement.

We will NEVER forget this experience and will most certainly be considering future tours with you.

Mary Jane – I don’t know how to thank you enough for all the arrangements you made to make this an absolute memorable tour for us!! What a blessing it was to have traced Kringe in die Bos’ footsteps through the woods of Knysna! And we could not have had a better tour guide than Hardy! He is absolutely passionate about the forest and it’s history – and so knowledgeable! My goodness me – we could not have wished for better. You have an absolute gem in Hardy………..I don’t think there are many people of his calibre around nowadays! I was saying to my husband on the way back that we have been spoilt rotten – from beginning to end.

And then there was the accommodation – THANK YOU for arranging Protea Wilds for us in place of the eco tents. It was absolutely superb! I can just go on and on about this whole experience – truly very special indeed. I hoped we would meet you to thank you in person. We left a little something for you with Amanda to show our appreciation.

Again – thank you – I am sure to be looking out for some of your other tours.

Thank you to Bhejane as an organization, for getting us out of our covid pandemic fog, and out into our beautiful country.

Each day was an adventure of unknown roads, passes (exhilarating and a bit nerve twitching) interesting towns such as Clanwilliam with its museum and veldskoen making shop, the stars explained and described in Sutherland, breath taking geology of mountains, fields and factory of tea and buchu (what hard work to produce my tea bag), caves like Stadsaal and Truitjieskraal to ponder the people who lived there before us, to see their paintings, to take in the temple like feeling of those gigantic stones and caves, and visits to character filled padstals and a winery, packed with goodies.

The fossils, unique plants such as the maartblomme in Niewoudtville which had us on our knees photographing their beauty and solemn prayerful churches with their Easter emblems still evident to contemplate.

A variety of ever different campsites some with rivers, pools, to swim in and enjoy and as much as we enjoyed our stay at the Lord Milner at Matjiesfontein on the last night of our trip, we missed our tent! So much to photograph, with so many sunset and sunrise colours...

We had the super team of Evan Naude, our photographic guide and tour leader, very ably assisted by Gilbert and Bjorn, camp setter-uppers and chefs(apart from tyre fixing etc)
They were professional, highly competent, and made camping great fun and easy. Meal time was a real treat enjoyed out in the open - not having to shop or cook! And very tasty meals they were

Evan was very knowledgeable, and enthusiastic, not only with his photographic knowledge guidance but also about our country, its geology, fauna and flora.

I’ve been meaning to write to say what a wonderful trip we had with Cronje and his team through the Kgalagadi at the beginning of the month. They really were superb !!! Ons het regtig elke oomblik van die toer geniet. Soos Andre se"Dit was die beste groep mense waarmee ons saam gery het". Die span wat Cronje, Bjorn, Gilbert en Comfort ingesluit het was altyd gereed om te help en al die vrae te beantwoord. Die kos was weereens uit die boeke en die koffie en water wat reg gestaan het, was nogal 'n voorreg en ons het dit baie geniet. Ons is spyt dat ons nie meermale saam met Bhejane kan toer nie, want elke toer is 'n belewenis.

Graag wil ons vir Bhejane baie dankie sê vir die heerlike toer saam met Cronje en sy span deur die Kgalagadi en Mabuasehube. Hulle vriendelike en gemoedelike hulpvaardigheid deurentyd en Comfort en Björn se heerlike cuisine het ons baie waardeer. Die pragtige gebaar van ‘n veldblom/gras rangskikking op die tafel met Valentine’s dag, het hulle sommer diep in ons harte gekruip.

Hierdie was ons 11de toer saam met Bhejane sedert 2010 en ons hoop van harte dat ons gesondheid hou om nog ‘n paar doen, al is dit om oues weer te herhaal.
Nogmaals baie dankie en baie sterkte met die groot organisasie om alles so klopdisselboom te laat verloop.

Willie & Kobie Booysen - Kgalagadi Trans Kalahari

We have just returned from the Zambia Liuwa Plains Migration and are still glowing with happiness. We were guided by Cronje, assisted by Dries with Sanana and Ofentse looking after the camp.

What amazing young men! So passionate about their job, so passionate about wildlife. The food Sanana and Oftense provided was out of this world – I still dream of Oftense’s pot bread! Cronje’s knowledge and passion of the countries we drove in was infectious. He was calm and collected in every small crisis and nothing, ever was a problem or too much trouble.
We were looked after and treated royally. I cannot find a single fault and cannot think of a thing we would change – except to go for longer!

Well done, Bhejane, well done.
You have not seen the last of us!

Penni & Mark Warncke - Zambia Liuwa Plains Migration & Kafue

Denise and I just returned from the Bhejane Kaokoland Desert Rivers tour and we were both enthralled with the scenery, quite magnificent! Dries ran the tour and for a 24-year-old he did a fantastic job and during his evening talks, everyone was focused on what he had to say which only showed that the man’s maturity was beyond his years.

Hansie and his team were great and with some new Bhejane recipes and I would say that out of the 11 tours I have done, this was the best!

Two more on the bucket list, Kgalagadi and the Bats and Bills in Zambia and will be booking that soon.

Wow-what an awesome Trans Botswana tour we had this past week with Bhejane Adventures. This will be one of the holidays I will always remember – it was just plain LEKKER!!

It was truly varied and exciting as well as relaxing trip and indeed Debra said that there was not a day that she did not have fun and enjoyment and I certainly echo 100% her sentiment.

It was truly an awesome adventure and a journey where the memories ( and the dust that now lives inside the Defender………….) will certainly remain for a long time. Philip and I just returned to Knysna after an epic Trans Botswana tour with Bhejane.
In my personal capacity, I would like to compliment our team under the leadership of Cronje Wessels.

Cronje managed our rather large group perfectly. Never seeming stressed, diplomatic, always getting us to our destination on time, sharing interesting information with us on the regions visited, pleasant, friendly and professional at all times, amongst others and simply a pleasure.

Ed, Sanana and Jarryd were also perfectly lovely and professional. The food was fantastic and it never ceased to amaze me how such a tiny team could produce such fabulous meals on time for such a large group, there was always more than enough. My only complaint is that the food was so delicious that I now have to cut back for a few weeks to fit back into my clothes!

It is my wish that we join another Bhejane tour within the year, perhaps Mozambique / Malawi or Natal.

We have the utmost praise for the team which took us on our Zambia and Malawi adventure, the team was led by Paul Wigley together with Danelle, Sanana and Ofentse .

The whole team worked so well together – nothing was too much trouble, they all went out of their way to make sure we all had a fantastic time. Sanana and Ofentse went ahead to make sure that our tents were ready for us on arrival and the food they prepared given the equipment available the countries we were in was outstanding, we never had a bad meal.

Paul and Danelle ensured that every lunch stop was an experience, and everything was fresh, how they achieved this we don’t know, but they did. Danelle was superb you would never have known that he was the new kid on the block, he was always attentive to the smallest detail and entertaining.

Paul, was a superstar of note. His knowledge is mind-boggling in its width and depth on every subject throughout the trip, either on the road or in camp, at all times he was available to assist in any way possible, this was particularly valuable when crossing border posts. In summary, it was a fantastic experience, this was echoed by everyone at the party, and we are looking forward to our next trip with Bhejane.

Graag wil ek baie dankie se vir die geleentheid om so ondervinding mee te maak. Die Classic Namibia toer was ‘n wonderlike avontuur.

Die toerleier het my verbaas. Hy was altyd vriendelik, altyd bereid om te help, planne te maak in buitengewone omstandighede en sy kennis van die omgewing het hy graag met toergangers gedeel en ek moet se in my opinie het hy regtig die ekstra myl gestap om almal te akkommodeer. ‘n Merkwaardige jongman wat ‘n groot aanwins vir julle besigheid is.

Die logistieke span was ook uitstekend. Altyd gereed met ‘n koffietjie en ‘n groot glimlag. Hoewel hulle omstandighede uitdagend was het ons heerlik ge-eet tot koek gekry wat hulle op die oop vuur gebak het!! (Ek kan nie eers een in ‘n oond bak nie!) Die daaglikse potbrood was natuurlik ook ‘n treffer. Die kampterein was gereed elke keer wanneer ons na ‘n lang dag daar opgedaag het en niks was te veel moeite vir hulle nie. Hulle het naderhand elkeen se voorkeur geken en sommer vroegtydig reggestaan.

Die toer was goed georganiseer en toergangers was deurentyd op hoogte van wat gebeur en volgende gaan gebeur. Hierdie vier manne het my beindruk en as dit nie vir hulle positiewe, hulpvaardige en vriendelike houding was nie kon dinge baie anders gewees het. Voorslag ouens voorwaar!!!

Ek hoop om in die toekoms weer ‘n toer met julle te kan mee maak.
